Legal interest rate

For the 2nd half of 2025, the legal interest rate is set at -6.65% for receivables due to individuals and -2.76% for receivables due to businesses. These rates are therefore lower compared to the previous semester (7.21% and 3.71%, respectively, for the 1st half of 2025). This trend is consistent with the rates observed in the second 2nd half of 2024 (8.16% and 4.92%) after several consecutive semesters of increase. It should be remembered that this rate is used to calculate, in the absence of contractual stipulations, the late payment interest due in the event of non-payment by a debtor after he/she has been given formal notice (i.e., 6.65% late payment interest if the creditor is a private individual and 2.76% if it is a business).

Prices of agricultural land

In 2024, the price of agricultural land and open meadows (not built on) increased by 3.2% to €6,400 per hectare on average. Land intended for field crops posted an average price of €7,820/ha (+1.4%), while land in cattle breeding areas was evaluated at €4,790/ha on average (+3.3%) in 2024. In mixed crop-livestock areas, prices increased by 4.6% to €6,450/ha. Of course, the price of vines is much higher; however, it fell last year in the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) area, averaging €176,400/ha (-1.1%). This decrease is even more significant (-9.8%) in areas producing PDO eaux-de-vie (Cognac, Armagnac), with prices at €51,100/ha, and for non-PDO vines (-7% to €13,800/ha).

Flood aid

Employers whose activity has been affected by the floods in Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne and Aquitaine can benefit from support from Urssaf. They can thus request a delay in the payment of their social security contribution deadlines without penalties or late payment surcharges. In addition, Urssaf specifies that it will be understanding towards employers who are temporarily unable to make their declarations due to the floods. Employers can contact Urssaf via their secure messaging system in their personal space or by phone on 3957. Assistance is also available for self-employed workers.

Olympic Games

Businesses, particularly traders, who believe that they have suffered damage due to the measures restricting or prohibiting movement, river navigation or access to sites, areas or roads included in the security perimeters established for the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, may claim compensation. A dedicated platform has just been opened for businesses to submit their requests. To access it, you must first create an account or log in with FranceConnect.
