Fuel aid

Since the beginning of the conflict in Iran, several support measures have been put in place by the public authorities in favor of companies impacted by the surge in fuel prices. These measures include deferrals of social security contributions, staggered tax deadlines, and the possibility of taking out short-term (three-year), fixed-rate (3.8%) loans without guarantees. Direct aid for the purchase of fuel has also been introduced. The transport, fisheries, agriculture, and construction sectors are the first to be affected. In addition, purchase subsidies have been made available to low-income individuals who must travel more than 30 km to work.

Labor Medal

As a reward for their length of service (20 years, 30 years, 35 years, etc.), employees may, at their request, be awarded a Medal of Honor for Work (silver, vermeil, gold, etc.) by the administration. This medal may be accompanied by a gratuity paid by the employer and/or the company’s social and economic committee (CSE). This bonus is currently exempt from social security contributions, but only until the end of the year. Thereafter, any gratuities paid will be fully subject to social security contributions.

Mileage scales

Bad news for motorists and users of motorized two-wheelers. After a freeze in 2024 and 2025, the mileage scales used to assess, on a flat-rate basis, vehicle expenses incurred for business purposes will also not be increased in 2026. They will therefore remain identical to those of last year.

2025 income tax returns

As every year, each taxpayer must submit a general declaration of their income to the tax authorities. In this regard, the timetable for the 2025 income tax return, to be filed in the spring of 2026, has been unveiled by the tax authorities. Taxpayers must, in principle, declare their income online by a deadline that varies according to their place of residence. The deadlines are set as follows:
- Thursday, May 21, 2026, for department No. 01 to 19 and non-residents;
- Thursday, May 28, 2026, for departments No. 20 to 54;
- Thursday, June 4, 2026, for departments No. 55 to 974/976.
