With fuel prices still remarkably high, the government has renewed and broadened both the €100 allowance for long-distance workers and its support for companies in the sectors most affected.

Aid for construction companies

The aid to construction companies on the price of non-road diesel (RNG), up to 20-euro cents per liter, which had been planned for the months of May, June and July, is renewed for bills paid in August, and even, the government announced, until the end of the year.

Capped at €4,000, the aid is reserved for companies that employ no more than fifty employees and have an annual turnover of less than €50 million or that have a balance sheet total that does not exceed €43 million.

Aid for farmers

The aid of 15-euro cents per liter of non-road diesel (RNG) from which agricultural businesses benefit or have benefited for purchases made for the months of May, June, July and August 2026 is also extended until the end of the year, i.e., for the months of September, October, November and December.

Aid for fishing enterprises

Similarly, the aid granted to fishing companies for purchases made in April (20-euro cents per liter of RNG), May (35-euro cents per liter of RNG) and June-July and August (25-euro cents per liter) has been extended until the end of the year. The government has indicated that the amount of aid will now be indexed to the maximum authorized by the European Union, i.e., up to 70% of the increase in costs compared to the pre-crisis situation, regardless of the rise in prices in the coming weeks.

In addition, from October 1, a zero-interest loan of up to €50,000 can be taken out by fishing companies with Bpifrance to relieve their cash flow while waiting for the aid to be paid.

The €100 allowance for “long-haul” workers

Set up and paid (for those who have applied for it) for the first time for the period from April to September, the fuel allowance of €100 is renewed for 3 months covering the period October, November, and December. And it is extended to a greater number of beneficiaries.

It should be remembered that people who, with their personal vehicle (2, 3 or 4 wheels), with a combustion engine or non-rechargeable hybrid, travel more than 15 kilometers per journey (30 km round trip) to get to their place of work or more than 8,000 kilometers per year to carry out their professional activity (private nurses, nursing assistants, home helpers, etc.) are eligible for this allowance.

Additional aid for private nurses

In addition to the €100 allowance for long-distance workers, private nurses travelling more than 100 km per day will receive €80 in aid from the National Health Insurance Fund, according to terms and conditions that remain to be specified.

The fuel bonus for employees

Finally, the latest new measure announced, the exemption ceiling for the fuel bonus, which can be voluntarily allocated by employers to their employees to compensate for the cost of their journeys between their home and their workplace, will once again be increased. Thus, employers will be able to pay up to €1,000, per employee and per year, exempt from social security contributions and income tax. Initially set at €300, the amount of this bonus was raised to €600 last June.
